The Best Employers of India 2015 – Is Yours on The List?
AON Hewitt, a human capital and management consulting provider recently announced its result s for its Best Employer program – 2015.
The Best Employer selection was made by the following criteria:
- High Employee Engagement
- Compelling Employer Brand
- Effective Leadership
- High Performance Culture.
It was refreshing to see some International brands rub their shoulders with some really known Indian brands being recognized for their efforts to keep improving their practices.
The best employers of India for 2015 were as follows: (The listings are not ranked)
1. Bajaj Finance Ltd:
As they claim on their website to be the most diversified non-bank of India (http://www.bajajfinserv.in/finance/about-bajaj-finance-limited.aspx), they proved their worth by getting picked up as one of the best employers in India, representing the financial sector.
2. Bharti Infratel:
The telecom infrastructure of the giant Bharti Group, which deals mainly with tower and related infrastructure, made their presence felt from the infrastructure industry. Led by Mr. Devender Singh Rawat, Bharti Infratel Ltd has come a long way.
3. Blue Dart Express Ltd:
One of the two entries from the logistic sector this year, Blue Dart has been well known for its reliable services for both domestic and international operations. They made the list of the best employers of India in 2015
4. DHL Express India Pvt Ltd:
The Indian unit of the global logistic giant, DHL Express also made the cut along with its competitor Bluedart in the best employers of India 2015 list.
5. Franklin Templeton Asset Management India Pvt. Ltd:
This Indian unit of the global finance giant Franklin Templeton, which deals with investment management for individuals as well as investment companies was one of the two entries from the financial sector.
6. Godrej Agrovet Ltd:
The diversified agribusiness company from one of the best known brands in India, Godrej is one of the few known corporate which are working to improve the agribusiness in India. They surely are doing a good job at it as they managed to get selected as one of the best employers in India for 2015.
7. Godrej Consumer Products Ltd:
Many of us use Godrej consumer products without even realizing that it is from one of the best known Indian business houses (e.g. Good Knight mosquito repellants or Cinthol soap!). This was the only company from the FMCG sector to make the list.
8. Marriott Hotels India Pvt. Ltd:
The Indian unit of the global hospitality giant the Marriott groups that operates through its well known brands such as Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels and Courtyard by Marriott, in India was one of the two group of Hotels that managed to get selected in the list of best employers of 2015.
9. Roche Diagnostics India Pvt. Ltd:
The Indian wing of Roche, the world leader in vitro diagnostics was the only entry from the healthcare sector. Roche has grown from a small drug lab into one of world’s leading research based Healthcare companies.
10. Starwood Hotels and Resorts India Pvt. Ltd:
Another global hospitality giant whose Indian operations made the list of best employers of 2015. Starwood Hotels which has positioned itself as a distinct lifestyle brand operates through its well known brand Four Point by Sheraton among others.
11. Whirlpool of India Ltd:
Whirlpool appliances are well known since decades for their reliability and high performance. Whirlpool of India Ltd which is famous for its Refrigerators, Washing machines and Air Conditioners and has a range of other product offerings was the only entry from the electrical appliances sector.
12. Best Employer India 2015 Commitment to Engagement:
Bharti Infratel had two reasons to celebrate as it was recognized as for its commitment to engagement.
13. Best Employer India 2015 for Gen Y:
DHL Express India Pvt. Ltd. was chosen as the best employer for younger generation
14. Best Employer India 2015 for Women:
Starwood Hotels and Resorts India Pvt. Ltd. left others behind as the top employer for women. In my opinion one of the most important distinctions
15. Aon Hewitt Voice of Employee Award:
Marriott Hotels India received the voice of employee award.
